As a way of proving that even from ‘less’ prestigious terroirs, it is still possible to obtain an excellent wine, Peter Sichel created this vineyard in the Canton de Saint Macaire in 1985. It is part of the illustrious Maison Sichel, AOC Bordeaux.
With his Bordeaux White cuvée Sirius, he demonstrates that by implementing the vigorous standards and methods that are used on the Grand Crus Bordeaux, you can elaborate wines of similar excellence as you find with Bordeaux whites from Pessac-Léognan and Graves.

In Sirius, you have Semillon for its roundness and its exotic fruit flavorings, Sauvignon-Blanc for its steely freshness. Medals: OSCAR Bordeaux de l’Ete 2020
Vineyard: 19 Hectares planted in white
Varietals: Sauvignon-blanc and Semillon
Average vine age: 30 years (technical notes on link)
Touched throughout with that delicious minerality found in the best of Bordeaux whites, Sirius also show nice exotic fruits on the nose, along with white flowers and citrus. The Semillon makes its presence known on the tongue offering balanced harmony and an overall round freshness.
This is an excellent dry white wine choice for any holiday meals featuring poultry or rich crustaceans such as lobster in a creamy, lemon-butter sauce.
